Frequently asked questions

Does Voxondo work without internet?

Yes, in offline mode, once you have downloaded the languages for your pair with Download languages. Online translation with Qwen needs a connection. On Android, translation packages download only over Wi-Fi.

Which languages are supported?

English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. On iPhone in offline mode, the app shows only the pairs the device can translate offline. On Android, if the device cannot recognize both languages on the device, the app blocks recording and says so.

How do I set up Qwen?

  1. Create a pay-as-you-go API key for QwenCloud International (Singapore) on the QwenCloud API keys page. A Token Plan key does not work with this mode.
  2. In the Online translation settings, paste the key and tap Save key.
  3. Tap Check connection, choose the Qwen mode and pick the target language.
  4. Tap Start translation and confirm that audio may be sent to QwenCloud.

Who pays for Qwen?

QwenCloud bills usage to the account that owns the key. Voxondo does not show cost estimates. If QwenCloud returns no recognized text for five minutes, recording stops so it does not keep spending your balance. QwenCloud has not confirmed that the Check connection session is free.

How do I remove my Qwen key?

Tap Delete key in the Online translation settings. This also resets your consent to cloud processing. To revoke the key completely, delete it in your QwenCloud account.

Are my conversations saved?

Voxondo does not save audio or conversations. Text stays in memory until you clear it or close the app. In Qwen mode, QwenCloud handles the audio under its own policy.

Why did recording stop?

Voxondo records only while the app is open. On iPhone, recording also stops when audio is interrupted, for example by a call, or when the audio device changes.
